All looked good as employees had resumed their assigned duties at the airports. However, only within couple of days, the PIA administration sacked 11 daily wagers, which has puzzled the JAC because the government had claimed it won’t remove anyone from service.
Those who have been sacked are Irfan, Nasir, Muhammad Rizwan, Aminullah, Sarfaraz, Mazhar Ali and others. These daily wagers have been sacked on charges of violating the Essential Services Act, which the federal government imposed on PIA to crush the countrywide protests of employees of PIA against the privatisation of the national flag carrier.
Apart from this, the PIA administration has also issued show cause notices to several hundred employees. The continuity of job of such employees is now directly linked to their satisfactory explanations in response to show-cause notices.
