LAHORE: Punjab Law Minister Malik Ahmad Khan on Tuesday resigned from his post, ahead of the by-elections on July 17. Party sources said Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz had accepted his resignation.
Earlier, another ruling party’s lawmaker, Awais Leghari, had resigned from the provincial ministry, citing personal reasons for his decision to step down. The development came ahead of crucial by-polls on 20 seats of the Punjab Assembly, which would decide the fate of the Punjab government. On last Saturday, federal minister Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and provincial minister Khawaja Salman Rafique had also resigned to participate in the by-elections.
