Ex-PTI govt breached IMF agreement: Gilani
MULTAN: Former premier and opposition leader in Senate Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani greeted the Muslim world on the eve of Eid-ul-Azha and said that philanthropists should remember financially disadvantaged people.
Talking to journalists at Musa Pak shrine after offering Eid prayer, he said philanthropists do not forget the poor at this time, said Gilani and wished Eid to the Muslim Ummah. He said international agreements are signed with the state. The former PTI led government breached an agreement with the IMF.
If an interim government had been formed for a year, the country would have been in a very difficult situation, said Gilani. "He said the former rulers wanted to default the country. "We have saved the state from politics", he added. Gilani said that Imran Khan himself said then they should not take responsibility. The previous government used to say that when they come, they will make everything cheaper.
Imran Khan had promised to form a southern province in three months. No one spoke against the country, institutions even after quitting power except Imran Khan, he said. Gilani said when the PPP is in power with a majority, they will have to form a province.
Responding to a query, he said much is happening in Afghanistan, adding, "They are in favour of press freedom, as the PPP had repealed all black laws against press freedom. Imran Khan is the only politician in the country who has all basic rights, Gilani added.
