Dr Aamir Liaquat assails practice to declare others infidel

NEW YORK: When Allah bestowed Prophethood on Muhammad (PBUH), His aim was not just to bring about an end to the worship of idols, but His sending of His beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) among the humanity was in such a manner that all the idols of egoism, vanity, superiority and racial discriminations were smashed, said the renowned research scholar and former federal minister Dr Aamir Liaquat Hussain.

Addressing a Mehfil-e-Milad at the Islamic Center in New York’s Brooklyn area and a session of the association of Pakistani physicians of America in Long Island titled ‘Apna’, the renowned speaker said that if we find ourselves in a crisis today it’s because of our deeds. 

The discrepancy between our words and deeds and the practice of considering ourselves right and others wrong have alienated us from Allah and His Prophet (PBUH).  “We are so deeply embroiled in obstinacy that even a hint of objectivity upsets us,” he said.

Aamir Liaquat Hussain said that only Allah decides who gets paradise and who gets hell, but “I feel ashamed to state that there are people who categorically and without any fear issue Fatwas designating someone a Muslim or an infidel”, he said.

According to the Fiqh, it’s forbidden and a sin to designate anyone an infidel other than those who Allah and His Prophet (PBUH) have designated to be so.

Aamir Liaquat Hussain said that holding of the Milad ceremonies is actually an opportunity to reiterate our affirmation to keep away from all the sins that our Holy Prophet (PBUH) has identified for us to keep away from them and to vow to embrace all the pious deeds that our Holy Prophet (PBUH) has asked us to embrace.

On the occasion, Aamir Liaquat Hussain enthralled his audience by reciting Naats for three hours consecutively. The ceremony of the Eid Milad-un-Nabi was attended by a large number of Pakistanis, Egyptians, Syrians and South Africans. Aamir Liaquat was also requested to present Naat in Arabic which he did. Later, Aamir Liaquat Hussain led the prayers for the wellbeing of the Muslim Ummah and Pakistan.

In Long Island, he collected donations for the Mahmooda Sultana Charity. The president of New York chapter of ‘Apna’ Dr Pervez Iqbal, Dr Javed Suleman, Dr Tariq Ibrahim, Dr Sarwar Ghumman, Dr Iqbal Jangra, Syed Shahid Hussain Mir and the executive director of the Mahmooda Sultana Charity (USA), Hassan Ansari, were also present on the occasion.
