LAHORE: People’s Party leader Aitzaz Ahsan on Monday said that it is prerogative of the Parliament to decide about the role of Pakistan in Saudi Iran dispute adding that Pakistan should not entangle in the row between Iran and Saudi Arabia.

Talking to media in Lahore High Court premises he called for a joint session of the Parliament to decide about the role of Pakistan in the dispute and not any government office. He said Pakistan’s taking side in the dispute could deteriorate internal situation in the country.

Pakistan’s opposition parties urged the government not to take sides in tensions between Iran and Saudi Arabia after Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Al Jubeir and Deputy Crown Prince and Defence Minister Mohammed bin Salman arrived in Islamabad and met with prime minister and army chief.
