Talha accorded hero’s welcome

LAHORE: Pakistani weightlifter Talha Talib returned home to a hero’s welcome from Japan on Friday after having displayed superlative performance in the Tokyo Olympics.
The office-bearers of the Pakistan Weightlifting Federation, WAPDA Sports Board, players and a large number of fans were present at the Lahore Airport to give him a hero’s welcome.
The 21-year-old weightlifter finished fifth in the 67kg category by lifting 320 kg.
In the clean and jerk third attempt, Talha, a WAPDA weightlifter, lifted 170 kg, which is more than twice his bodyweight.
