PkMAP demands probe into Usman Kakar’s death
MARDAN: The Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) Mardan chapter on Monday staged a protest against the alleged delaying tactics to investigate the death of Senator Usman Kakar.
The party workers had gathered outside the Mardan Press Club. Chanting slogans in favour of their demands, they demanded the formation of a committee comprising high court judges to probe the death of the late senator.
PkMAP district president Gohar Ali, Akbar Hoti Advocate, Ashraf Khan Advocate, Pervez Lala and other party leaders addressed the protesters. A large number of activists of PkMAP participated in the protest.
The protesters were carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans. Addressing the protesters, the speakers said that according to the medical report, the death of Usman Kakar occurred due to torture.
They said that it was unfortunate that an investigation could not be launched into the murder. In the end, prayers were offered for the late Usman Kakar. Later, the protesters dispersed peacefully.
