Showing their concerns over the Federal Investigation Agency’s recent revelation that some three to four million fake national identity cards have been issued in the Sindh province, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan’s central leaders have termed the Sindh government a ‘security risk’ for the country.
MQM-P senior deputy convener Aamir Khan told a press conference at the party’s headquarters on Wednesday that the FIA had exposed the government’s nefarious plan of corruption, fake identity cards and fake registration in voter lists.
“The issuance of four million fake CNICs have affected more or less 40 National Assembly constituencies in Sindh,” he said. “For verifying the documents to get fake CNICs, the authorities should investigate all UC secretaries and other local government employees,” he said and demanded inclusion of MNAs and MPAs in the probe.
“Those involved in the registration of voters should also be brought to justice, and all fake identity cards should be blocked immediately and their names removed from the voter lists,” said Khan, praising the FIA.
He said the Pakistan Peoples Party was a party that had used the slogan ‘you are there, we are here’ to divide the country for the sake of power in 1971 and still adhered to the same policy. “The PPP has proved to be anti-state, so governor's rule should be enforced in the province immediately and an investigation should be carried out into the fake identity cards and voter lists in order to gain a fake majority through a systematic plan.”
