GOC Pano Aqil says Afghan situation to affect Pakistan
SUKKUR: The general officer commanding (GOC), Pano Aqil Garrison, Major General Ghulam Shabbir Narijo, on Monday visited the Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University, Larkana, and Chandka Medical College.
GOC Pano Aqil said he was thankful to vice-chancellor of SBBMU, Larkana, of inviting him to share his views with students and faculty members, appreciating the efforts of Anila Ata-ur-Rehman, the first female vice-chancellor of any medical university in Pakistan, who has initiated some good projects. He said the changing situation in Afghanistan would have a direct impact on Pakistan, as we had already rendered great sacrifices in the war on terror. The army officer said the nation has currently been dealing with terrorism as well as the fifth generation war.
Ghulam Shabbir Narijo emphasised on the students to focus on their education and should not be entrapped by elements, who could use them against the country. He advised them to join the Army Medical Corps after completion of their MBBS degrees, emphasising on students and academics to serve Pakistan.
