Sexual harassment in E-11: IGP briefs PM on progress of case
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan was on Friday briefed by the inspector general of police, Islamabad, on the progress made on the incident of sexual harassment and incarceration of a couple in E-11.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, IGP Qazi Jameel-ur-Rehman himself is overseeing the case to ensure strong criminal proceedings after the arrest of the accused. All scientific resources are being used to gather evidence. The top police officer also briefed the premier on the law and order situation in Islamabad.
Meanwhile, in another step by Prime Minister Imran Khan to address public grievances, a decision was made on the performance report of government officials. On the instructions of the prime minister, a letter was issued to the Establishment Division to work out modalities. The letter emphasized that resolving the grievances of people should be the first responsibility of any government official and that prompt resolution of grievances and public satisfaction is the best measure of a government official's performance.
In another development, Senators Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti and Senator Anwarul Haq Kakar from Balochistan called on the PM and discussed with him the political situation of Balochistan. They also discussed the positive impact of the government's development package on the economy and the life of the common man in Balochistan and the overall law and order situation.
The prime minister's decision to hold talks for peace and improvement of the situation in Balochistan was discussed. The senators appreciated the decision of the prime minister and reiterated their full support.
Meanwhile, Imran Khan paid tributes to Madr-e-Millat Fatima Jinnah and said she was a source of strength for her brother Quaid-i-Azam till be breathed his last.
The prime minister tweeted, “Remembering Madr-e-Millat Fatima Jinnah: A woman of strength & iron will, she was a source of strength for her brother Quaid-i-Azam, till he breathed his last.”
“She valiantly fought for Jinnah's vision of Pak even when she was old & at a time when dictatorship had taken over,” he maintained.
