Tests for recruitment of 46,500 teachers in August, says Saeed Ghani
The Sukkur Institution of Business Administration (IBA Sukkur) is set to conduct tests in the second week of August for the recruitment of 46,500 schoolteachers.
Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani said this on Friday while presiding over a meeting held at the office of the school education secretary.
So far the school education and literacy department has received five hundred thousand applications for the recruitment of 46,500 primary schoolteachers (PSTs) and junior elementary schoolteachers (JESTs).
The meeting discussed the test procedure for the recruitment of teachers, installation of CCTV at the test centres, and biometric attendance of candidates. “The IBA Sukkur has been directed to conduct a transparent recruitment test and ensure the installation of CCTV cameras at examination centres. We hope that the newly recruited teachers would uplift the quality of education in the province,” said Ghani.
He added that the tests for the recruitment of teachers would be conducted at the union council level in each division across the province. “The vice chancellor of the IBA Sukkur has given a detailed briefing about the assessment process. The test centres will be monitored through CCTV cameras while examiners will also record the test,” he asserted.
It was decided in the meeting that the test would be conducted in the open air so that no candidates could question the transparency of the procedure. “The teachers would be recruited on merit and no pressure would be accepted in the recruitment process,” the education minister remarked.
IBA Sukkur Vice Chancellor Syed Mir Mohammad Shah told the meeting that the test would be conducted at the divisional level.
In the first phase, the candidates who applied for the PST posts would take the test while in the second phase, the candidates for JEST posts would take it. Every candidate would have a separate answer sheet, on which his picture and complete information would already be written, it
was said.
The VC said that the candidates would also be able to visit the IBA Sukkur website to check their answer sheets.
The meeting was also attended by SELD Secretary Ahmed Bakhsh Narejo, Sukkur IBA Registrar Dr Zahid Hussain Khand, IT expert Zafar Ahmed and others.
