Sindh govt announces Rs10m compensation for Hindu family
KARACHI: The Sindh government has announced Rs10 million compensation for the bereaved heirs of a member of Hindu community, Do Do Bheel, recently murdered at Thar coalfields.
Speaking at a press conference here on Tuesday, Sindh Energy Minister Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh said that the two persons injured in the incident at Thar coal site would be given Rs5 million compensation each.
The energy minister also announced to give employment to the heirs of the deceased person. He said the PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had taken cognisance of the tragic incident in Thar and directed the Sindh government to take stern action against the culprits and also provide support to the affected family. He said the accused had been nominated in the FIR in accordance with the complaint of the bereaved family members. The minister said that the Sindh government would plead the case of Do Do Bheel. He assured that those responsible for the murder of Do Do Bheel would not be spared.
