70pc Ulema, seminary students vaccinated

PESHAWAR: More than 70 percent Ulema and students of the seminaries have been vaccinated against Covid-19 in the district, a meeting was told here on Friday.
A meeting of the district administration was held with Deputy Commissioner Khalid Mehmood in the chair. A group of Ulema led by Mufti Zafar Zaman also attended the meeting.
The meeting discussed the corona situation in the district and the seminaries’ response to protect the students from the disease.
The administration was told that the vaccination drive in the seminaries was ongoing and that more than 70 percent teachers and students had been vaccinated.
The meeting was told that seminaries in the district would soon achieve the target of 100 percent vaccination. It was disclosed that mobile vaccination teams were administering vaccines to the seminaries students and teachers on a daily basis.
The meeting was also informed that Ulema were also urging the people in the Friday sermons to get their loved ones vaccinated.
The deputy commissioner thanked the Ulema for the continued support and requested them to extend the support to defeat the coronavirus.
