KARACHI: Former Sindh Governor Moinuddin Haider has said that promoting sports is necessary for a healthy society.
Speaking at a luncheon hosted by Syed Khurram Bukhari, who won a car in a golf event here recently for making hole-in-one, Moinuddin said the developed countries always gave special importance to sports.
He said Khurram’s feat of making hole-in-one was a remarkable achievement in the field of golf.
He said there was no dearth of talent in Pakistan and that the government should support the game.
Khurram said that the role of Pakistan Golf Federation (PGF) in promotion of golf in Pakistan could not be ignored. He said talented sportsmen were playing their role in making this sport popular.
