Attock Cement hires Chinese firm
KARACHI: Attock Cement Pakistan Limited on Wednesday awarded a contract to a Chinese firm to build a new 4,000 tons/day capacity plant in Hub, Balochistan, the company said.
"The management of Attock Cement has concluded an agreement for setting up new 4,000 tons/day cement manufacturing plant with all standard parts and accessories with Hefei Cement Research and Design Institute (China)," the company said in a bourse filing. In August, the manufacturer informed the KSE that its board approved a proposal to increase its production capacity by installing a new plant at its existing site with an estimated cost of $120 million.
The company is exploring new regional markets and added India, Yemen and Somalia as potential new markets in July-September quarter.
