Two youths drown in Indus River

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Two youths drowned in Indus River at Mandhranwali T point in the district on Thursday. Eyewitnesses said that a youth identified as Nauman, a resident of Mandhran village, was grazing cattle at Basti Darbarwali area. They said the grazer went to the river to beat the heat when the gushing currents swept him away after he slipped into the deep water. Another youth identified as Khalid, a resident of Basti Darbarwali, jumped into the river to save the grazer but he also drowned. Soon after the incident, the divers of Rescue 1122 rushed to the spot and started search for the bodies. However, the bodies could not be fished out till filing this report.
