UET entrance test amust for PU admission

LAHORE:Punjab University (PU) spokesman has said that the candidates who want to get admission in BSc engineering programmes to be offered by PU must appear in the entry test being conducted by University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore. The last date to register for the said test is June 27, 2021. In a press statement, the spokesman said that PU offers Pakistan Engineering Council accredited regular and self-supporting engineering programmes including BSc (Engg.) Chemical Engineering (with Specialisation in Petroleum & Gas Technology) and BSc (Engg.) Metallurgy & Materials Engineering and only regular engineering programmes including BSc (Engg.) Electrical Engineering, BSc (Engg.) Industrial Engineering and Management and BSc Energy and Environmental Engineering.

PEC team visits UET: A delegation of Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) led by Dr Muhammad Tufail visited University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore. A UET spokesperson said that the purpose of PEC team's visit was to review the requirements for re-accreditation of nine BSc programmes of the UET.

The delegation accompanied by UET Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Syed Mansoor Sarwar visited Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering & Design, Transportation Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials, Petroleum and Gas, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechatronics and Control Engineering departments.

officer-bearers: The newly elected office-bearers of Academic Staff Association (ASA) of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences were sworn in here Thursday. UVAS Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad chaired the oath-taking ceremony and administered oath to the office-bearers. According to a press release, the office-bearers included Dr Aneela Zameer Durrani (President), Prof Dr Aamir Ghafoor Bajwa (Vice-President), Dr Rana Muhammad Ayub (General Secretary), Dr Arshad Javid (Joint Secretary) and Dr Muhammad Junaid (Finance Secretary). Speaking on the occasion, the VC congratulated the office-bearers and urged them to work for the welfare and development of the academic staff of the university.

KEMU course: A CMT course concluded here at King Edward Medical University (KEMU), on Thursday. Former KEMC Principal Prof Mahmood Ali Malik was the chief guest. Scholarship and Research Grants Programme, KEMCAANA President Dr Masood Akbar was guest of honour and FJMU VC Prof Dr Aamer Zaman Khan chaired the session on the last day. The students’ group presentations were presented by students and effective feedback was provided by the facilitators Prof Saira Afzal and Prof Mustehsan Bashir. The session ended with Individual feedback from participants and facilitators.
