517 coronavirus patients recover
LAHORE:Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department (SHC&MED), Punjab has said around 301,813 corona patients have recovered in public sector hospitals while
517 patients have recovered during the last 24 hours.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday, SHC&MED Secretary Nabeel Ahmed said
decline in wave of Corona pandemic was witnessed in the province which
reflect that out of 7,499 beds reserved in all government hospitals for corona patients, 6,576 beds were lying unoccupied. Likewise, 1,555 beds reserved in government hospitals of Lahore and 1,327 beds were vacant so far. The secretary said the department had arranged 3,327 beds in isolation wards of all government hospitals in the province, out of which, 3044 beds were vacant.
The secretary said the health department had arranged 784 ventilators for corona patients in all hospitals of the provincial government, of which 180 ventilators were under use while 604 were unoccupied.
Around 284 ventilators are reserved in Lahore hospitals, of which 65 are occupied and 213 ventilators are vacant, he said.
PHC: The Punjab Healthcare Commission on Wednesday sealed two lab collection centres and
issued notices to seven others for not implementing the requisite standards.
The PHC teams had carried out special inspections of 12 labs and collections of the city. Out of these, Doctors’ Lab Collection Centre and Excel Lab Collection Centre, located opposite Jinnah Hospital, were sealed since these were neither registered with the PHC nor employed qualified staff. Moreover, other laboratories were issued notices for not implementing the requisite standards.
