US delegation calls on PA speaker
LAHORE:Deputy Assistant for Pakistan in US Embassy Leslie C Viguerie along with a delegation called on Punjab Assembly Speaker Ch Pervaiz Elahi on Monday and went round the new building.
The delegation included US Consul General Lahore Ms Catherine Rodriquz, Economic Officer Ms Molina Salvador and Political and Economic Specialist Ms Sadaf Saad whereas MNAs Moonis Elahi and Salik Hussain and Punjab Assembly Secretary Muhammad Khan Bhatti were present during the meeting. On this occasion views were exchanged on matters of mutual interest including prevailing political situation and Punjab Assembly’s new building.
Pervaiz Elahi told the delegation that US President Joe Biden had him in February 2008 at his residence, he was a senator at that time and other senators John Kerry and Chuck Hagel were with him. He had praised my measures as Punjab Chief Minister in education, health, agriculture and infrastructure development sectors, Pervaiz said. Thanking the speaker, Deputy Assistant for Pakistan in US Embassy Leslie C Viguerie said to be the foreign diplomat, to be the first the guest in the new building of the Punjab Assembly, which is the biggest House in Asia and Pakistan, is a matter of happiness and honour for him.
