Covid-19 claims 13 more lives

Covid-19 claimed 13 more lives in Sindh during the past 24 hours, raising the death toll to 5,256 in the province, said Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in his daily Covid-19 situation report on Monday.

Meanwhile, 686 patients were under treatment at various health facilities, of whom condition of 633 patients was said to be critical while 51of them had been onto life support. In addition to the 13 deaths overnight in Sindh, 479 new cases of the viral disease emerged during the past 24 hours after 12,382 tests were conducted, that it constituted a 3.9 per cent current detection rate.

So far 4,298,465 tests had been conducted in Sindh, against which 328,646 cases were diagnosed, of which 91.4 per cent or 300,089 patients had recovered, including 643 overnight. The CM said currently 23,301 patients were under treatment, of whom 22,590 were in home isolation, 686 at different hospitals and 25 patients in isolation Centres.

Out of the 479 new cases, 229 were detected from Karachi, including 102 from District East, Central 49, South 36, Malir 21, Korangi 15 and West six. In the rest of Sindh, Matiari had 36 new cases, Hyderabad 33, NawabShah 28, and Mirpurkhas 17.
