167 POs arrested during May in Mardan
MARDAN: As many as 167 proclaimed offenders and their 79 abettors have been arrested in the month of May in the district. A crime review meeting at the offices of district police officer was informed that besides POs, 131 drug dealers, 8 gamblers, and 28 accused in aerial firing cases had also been arrested in the outgoing month.
DPO Dr Zahidullah Khan chaired the meeting, which was attended by sub-divisional police officers, station house officers and investigation officers of police stations from across Mardan district.
The cops also seized more than 108kg charas, over 2.5kg heroin, 752 grams ice and 44 litres wine during the month. Moreover, 35 Kalashnikovs, 15 Kalakovs, 13 rifles, 33 shotguns, 582 pistols, and 10050 bullets of various kinds were also recovered. Dr Zahid asked the officers to expedite operations against drug traffickers, business of usury, land mafia and other criminals and ensure law and order.
