CS launches June round of anti-polio drive in KP

PESHAWAR: The June round of anti-polio drive was launched in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa here Friday.
KP Chief Secretary Kazim Niaz kicked off the round by administering drops to children at the Police Services Hospital. Additional Secretary Health (Polio), Abdul Basit, Provincial Team Lead of the UNICEF, Dr Andrew, Technical Focal Person for KP, Dr Imtiaz Ali Shah, Dr Hafizullah and other officials of Health Department were present.
The chief secretary stressed the role of the media, elected representatives and religious scholars in addressing the hardcore refusals to polio vaccination, saying the government was making every effort to stamp out the crippling virus for the last endemic region.
