Driver of robbery victim accused of abetment
LAHORE:The driver of a Chinese national, robbed two days back on Raiwind Road, was allegedly involved in the robbery. The alleged robbers, Waseem, Shahzad and Hasnain, had left the job of the factory where the Chinese worked. Sometime ago, they made a plan to commit a robbery.
According to the plan, Shahbaz, the driver of the Chinese, parked the car at Pajian Chowk where the robbers robbed him. According to the initial investigations, robbers were habitual criminals. They used a bike in the robbery which was lifted from Green Town police limits. Police said they were investigating the matter.
Man dies: A 60-year-old man died in an incident of fire in a house in DHA on Tuesday. The fire broke out in a house in G Block, DHA Phase-6. The victim, identified as Gohar, was in a bathroom. The victim was stuck inside the washroom. He fell unconscious. Firefighters extinguished the fire and removed him to hospital where he died.
ARRESTED: Nishter Colony investigations police arrested five suspects of torture of a man over contracting marriage of his choice. Victim Javed, a resident of Karachi, contracted love marriage in Lahore and moved to Lahore. His in-laws were not happy with the marriage and held a grudge against him. They lured the victim to their place and subjected him to severe torture and humiliation. The suspects, including his mother-in-law and brothers-in-law shaved his head, moustaches, blackened his face and posted videos on the social media. Police arrested the suspects. Two of the arrested accused have been identified as Nadeem and Aslam.
injured: Three workers suffered injuries in an incident of fire in an industrial unit at Khokha Stop on Band Road on Tuesday. Firefighters extinguished the fire. They also evacuated the victims and removed them to hospital. The victims suffered minor injuries and their condition was stated to be stable.
ROBBERS HELD: Three suspected robbers were arrested by Johar Town investigations police. The arrested accused have been identified as Ali Haider alias Ghorha, Zoraiz and Ali Ahmad alias Toni. Police recovered half a million rupees in cash, mobile phones, motorbikes and wristwatches from their custody. Illegal arms were also seized. Many cases have been traced to them.
