PESHAWAR: Minister for Labour and Mineral Development Anisa Zeb Tahirkheli has directed the authorities concerned to take measures for restoration of financial support to students enrolled under scholarship scheme to secure their academic career.
She stated this while presiding over a meeting on the suspension of scholarship grant to the students enrolled under scholarship scheme in various educational institutions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, said a handout.
Beside others, member National Assembly of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Dr. Azhar Jadoon, Advisor to Chief Minister Akbar Ayub and director of the Workers Welfare Board attended the meeting.
On this occasion, Anisa Zeb sought details about the issue. She was told that children of the employees of the Telephone Industry of Pakistan were provided an opportunity of scholarship on behalf of the industry’s contribution to the department concerned.
But, unfortunately, the industry could not provide own contribution that was why the scholarships were suspended. The minister said the issue should be taken with the relevant federal authorities because it was an injustice to leave the students sans support in middle of their career.
