LAHORE: The Supreme Court (SC), Lahore Registry, on Monday declared Federal Minister for Railways and leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Khawaja Saad Rafique’s petition against Election Tribunal’s interim order as ‘ineffective’.
The hearing of NA-125 case was conducted by a two-member bench of the apex court, headed by Justice Mian Saqib Nisar.Saad Rafique adopted the stance that the Tribunal did not issued orders regarding NA-125 verification of thumbprints under the law, as the directions to re-open the record of some polling stations have been given only to benefit one party.
The minister requested the court to declare the investigation orders of the Tribunal as null and void. The judge remarked that as the final verdict of the Tribunal has been announced; therefore, the decision on the appeal will be taken by the Supreme Court.Subsequently, the court discarded the petition while declaring it as ‘ineffective’.
