SUKKUR: The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said on Sunday that the US and Europe have joined hands against the Muslims. He said the western countries are conspiring to alienate Pakistan.
The JUI-F chief expressed these views at a conference at the Municipal Stadium in Larkana on the eve of the first death anniversary of the former secretary-general of the JUI-F, Dr Khalid Mehmood Soomro.
Fazlur Rehman said the world powers were leading Turkey and Russia to the course of war. He said the US and its coalition partners wanted to destabilise the Islamic countries and they did not want to see them emerge as a powerful bloc.
Fazlur Rehman said Turkey had seen remarkable development in the last 15 years, but the US and its coalition partners did not want to see progress and prosperity in the Islamic country. The JUI-F chief said the so-called champions of peace had wreaked havoc in Afghanistan and Iraq and disrupted peace in Yemen, Egypt, Libya and Syria.
The Maulana said Islam is being wrongly projected as “an extremist religion in front of the whole world”. The JUI-F chief said that linking Jihad with terrorism was a gross conspiracy.
“We want to get rid of US bondage. We want to see Pakistan as an Islamic state. Europe is afraid of Islam and it misinterprets Islam. There should be a differentiation between Jihad and terrorism. The students of the seminaries should not be linked with the Taliban,” he said.
Fazlur Rehman said that the Ulema were loyal to the country and they would safeguard the motherland at any cost. The JUI-F chief said that Pakistan came into being on the basis of an ideology, adding that ideologies don’t change every day.
The Maulana said the entire Europe in the lead of the US has stood against Islam.“Islam is being projected before the world as an extremist religion. The West has purposely misinterpreted Islam,” he maintained. He said the champions of peace have wreaked havoc in Afghanistan and Iraq. “They have disrupted peace in Yemen, Egypt, Libya and Syria,” he added.
