FAISALABAD: The University of Kastamonu, Turkey, and the University of Agriculture Faisalabad Saturday inked a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of research and education.
The MoU was duly inked by Rector University of Kastamonu Dr Sayit Aydin and UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan.
In the MoU, it was agreed upon about the staff and faculty exchange; students exchange at graduate and undergraduate level; development and realization of joint educational programmes including double degree diploma awarding. It was also agreed upon to carry out joint research activities. Both the varsities would organize academic meetings and symposiums and agreed upon exchanging the academic information, publications materials and knowledge.
Talking to reporters, visiting rector of the Kastamonu University Turkey Dr Seyit Aydin hoped that mutual cooperation between both the institutions would lay a firm foundation of more R&D activities. He said that owing to growing S&T activities between institutions of the Muslim world, the 1.8 billion Muslims would gear up the economic development activities that would fetch them out of poverty and hunger.
During the signing ceremony, Dr Iqrar said that UAF in association with British Council is going to hold a Distinguished Innovation and Entrepreneurship Event among the universities across the country enabling the university studies to showcase their professional skills and start their own business. He said the UAF was enjoying good relations with Turkish seats of higher learning and also working with TIKA in poverty alleviation programme in rural areas of the country.
