NUST College of Electrical and Mechanical held its 21st convocation, says a press release.
Mohammad Asghar, rector of National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) the chief guest on the occasion. A large number of faculty members, students, parents and other dignitaries attended the event.
Addressing the occasion, the chief guest congratulated the graduating students and appreciated the College of Electrical and Mechanical (EME) for providing exceptional engineering skills to the graduating engineers in the discipline of Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, Mechatronics engineering and Engineering Management. He acknowledged that these skills will enable them to lead a professionally successful life ahead. He also lauded the knowledge with emphasis on research and development both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
The main feature of the occasion was the award of 300 degrees to the undergraduate and 148 degrees to the postgraduate students completing their course in the disciplines of Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, Mechatronics Engineering and Engineering Management.
For best performance in Master of Science in Engineering President’s Gold Medals were awarded to Engineer Shifa Al Ain Sheikh in Electrical Engineering, Engineer Sidra Rashid & Engineer Abdul Basit in Computer Engineering Engineer Saad Sheikh in Mechatronics Engineering and Engineer Muhammad Latif in Computer Software Engineering, Engineer Hassan Raza, Engineer Ikram Ul Haq &Engineer Tanveer Ahmed in Engineering Management.
Rector Gold Medals for outstanding contribution in the undergraduate projects were awarded to Engineer Muhammad Farjad Hassan of Electrical Engineering, Engineer Qasim Nazir of Mechanical Engineering, Engineer Ahmed Khaliq of Computer Engineering and Engineer Razeen Hussain of Mechatronics Engineering.
Chief of Army Staff Gold Medal for Best Technical Cadet for the year was conferred upon Engineer Muhammad Ubaid Ur Rehman.
President Gold Medals at undergraduate level were awarded to students securing 1st position in academic. In Electrical Engineering Engineer Waleed Ilyas, in Mechanical Engineering Engineer Qasim Nazir, in Computer Engineering Engineer Mashal Fiaz and in Mechatronics Engineering Engineer Razeen Hussain was awarded gold medals.
