KHAR: Thirty-seven out of 115 tested positive for the coronavirus during the Eid holidays in Bajaur district on Thursday.
Briefing reporters, Deputy Commissioner Fayyaz Sherpao said that the number of coronavirus patients were increasing with the passage of time as the people were not observing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety measures against the fatal viral infection. He said that awareness campaign against the Covid-19 had been launched in which officials of district administration and Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) were taking part to help control the viral pandemic. Besides it, the officials said that spray of disinfectants was being carried out in various areas. Launching the awareness campaign about the fast-spreading viral disease, the deputy commissioner later visited Khar bazaar and distributed sanitizers and facemasks among the shopkeepers and general public. He appealed the people to observe SOPs, including social distancing, wearing facemasks and adopting other safety measures to stem the spread of outbreak of coronavirus in the district.
