Artist, social worker and peace activist Jimmy Engineer has left for Europe and US.
In a statement prior to departure, Jimmy Engineer said he was most likely to organise more international exhibitions of his creative artworks during the visit and would be announcing the details in this regard as soon as arrangements are finalised with the quarters concerned in foreign countries to organise his solo and group shows.
Jimmy recalled during 2013 and 2014, he had held and organised as many as seven international solo and group exhibitions of his original artwork as well as prints of selected artwork in Dubai, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and Canada. He said everywhere his artwork was greatly appreciated and acknowledged by artists, art lovers and people at large who had visited his art shows in pretty large number. He pointedly stated that no other living or demised Pakistani artist had held such number of international exhibitions in a row in such time, adding he regarded this as his achievement and honour for himself as well as Pakistan.
Jimmy Engineer said that as usual during his foreign visit besides displaying artwork here and there, he will also be availing every opportunity while inter-acting local artists, art lovers and people from different walks of life to project and present soft, positive, moderate, progressive, forward-looking image of Pakistan and its peace loving people. He said he has been and will be doing all this as he regards himself as the servant of Pakistan on the pertinent direction of well-known figure of Sufi Barkat Ali of Darul Ehsan near Faisalabad.
He said he will be telling people in foreign countries that people of Pakistan are peace-loving and abhor terrorism, extremism and militancy in all manifestations and are fighting a determinedly to root all such extremist and terrorist elements once for all so that can live in peace and harmony. Jimmy said that all his efforts in this regard over the years have been quite productive and encouraging and people in foreign countries are becoming more and more aware about Pakistan and its people and their love for positive, moderate and progressive life with complete unity and harmony and cherished desire to live in peace, harmony and brotherhood with other countries particularly with the neighbouring countries.
