Siraj for workers salary as per promise
LAHORE :Calling for radical steps to protect daily wage earners from starvation after the coronavirus lockdown, Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Senator Sirajul Haq has proposed fixing the wages of workers on a par with the salary of the Prime Minister in keeping with the spirit of the Madina state.
He made this demand while talking to a delegation of National Labour Federation led by its President Shamsur Rahman Swati, on the eve of the May Day. He also proposed reducing the difference between the lowest and the highest wages/ salaries to only six in order to narrow down the difference between their living. Expressing total dissatisfaction over the labour law and their application, Sirajul Haq said Prime Minister Imran Khan had himself stated that almost 80 percent of the workers were not registered.
He called for extending the jurisdiction of labour laws to several other sectors which were presently out of its hold. He also demanded overhauling of the government machinery dealing with labour. He said social security must be made compulsory to ensure that all the workers got education and health facilities.
Meanwhile, addressing a teleconference with the public relations officials of JI across the country, JI naib ameer Liaqat Baloch said India’s brutalities in Held Kashmir had increased many times. He said the people of Pakistan and Jammu and Kashmir were raising their voice against India, but Prime Minister Imran Khan was simply issuing statements and tweets in this respect. He said the voices against the injustice and human rights violations in India were now being raised all over the world. He said that evolving a national Kashmir policy could be helpful for the Kashmiris’ struggle for liberation. He called for lowering petrol price to Rs65 per litre in view of the fall in the world oil price for the benefit of the people especially agriculture and industry.
Meanwhle, Jamaat-e-Islami has appreciated the decision by the cabinet of Kuwait, condemning Indian government led by Prime Minister Modi for unleashing brutal atrocities on the minorities, particularly victimising the Muslims.
In a statement on Thursday, JI Naib Ameer Dr Farid Ahmed Piracha urged other Muslims states to also discharge their responsibilities towards the Muslim brethren being crushed by the Hindu fanatic government of BJP and take practical measures to prevent it from Muslim genocide in India.
Dr Piracha said the harsh treatment being meted out to the minorities in India was not only deplorable but also extremely cruel and shameful. He said the way Hindutva poison had been spread by Indian Premier Modi across India and the freedom given to R.S.S. hooligans to kill and persecute helpless Muslim men, women and children was the worst form of state terrorism in modern history. He said that silence of the UN and other world human rights bodies on the systematic genocide of Muslims was tantamount to silent involvement in this heinous crime against humanity. He warned that continuous persecution and genocide of minorities could invite a violent reaction.
