Personnel of the Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) have seized a huge quantity of narcotics during a raid along a highway in Karachi, a spokesman said on Monday.
The spokesman for the customs said staffers of the MCC Preventive intercepted a Suzuki Bolan van at Ryaz Goth near the Customs Moachko checkpoint on the RCD Highway and seized narcotics. The seizure included brown-coloured heroin powder weighing 1,835 grams (net) valued at Rs18,350,000, opium alkaloids (crystal) weighing 765 grams (net) valued at Rs7,650,000. The total weight of narcotics was 2,600 grams and the total value was said to be Rs26,000,000. The vehicle is worth Rs1,000,000 and the total seizure is worth Rs27million. The spokesman said two persons had been arrested in booked in an FIR.
