KARACHI: Syed Mehdi Shah, brother-in-law of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, died on Thursday night due to Coronavirus. Mehdi Shah remained under treatment at a privately run hospital in Karachi for last three weeks. He reportedly contracted coronavirus during his visit to Syria for pilgrimage. Mehdi Shah was a senior bureaucrat and served managing director of SITE Ltd as his last posting. Mehdi Shah was reportedly suffering from heart disease and other ailments which led to compounding the medical issues. Sindh Governor Imran Ismail, Opposition Leader in Sindh Assembly Firdous Shamim Naqvi, Sindh Information and Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani, in separate messages condoled the death of brother-in-law of Sindh CM and prayed for the departed soul.
