Gang rape victim dies

SUKKUR: The victim of a gang rape could not survive and succumbed to her injuries in Umerkot on Sunday. Reports said four days ago, the case of a gang rape was registered after a female beggar indentified as Soonaro Oad was sexually assaulted by two accused Paro and Rattan Kolhi in the limits of Sofi Faqir Police Station, Umerkot. The police had registered the FIR of the incident against the alleged criminals, who sexually assaulted the victim and left her in critical condition. Reports said the victim succumbed to her wounds four days after the incident.

The police said raids were being carried out to arrest the alleged criminals. Sodho Oad and Mangha Ram Oad accused the police that it did not bother to arrest the criminals, while the Woman Action Forum has demanded the arrest of the accused and post-mortem of the victim.
