CHARSADDA: Minster for Health Shahram Khan Tarakai Saturday visited the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital here and ordered an inquiry against the staff of the Gynae ward for lack of healthcare facilities.
Shahram Tarakai inspected various wards including, Gyne and Emergency.
The health minister expressed dissatisfaction over the medical care being provided to the patients at the Gyne ward and ordered an inquiry against the staff members.
He directed the hospital administration to computerise the record of medicines and stores to bring transparency in the hospital.
Talking to reporters, he said that the practice of referring patients to the Lady Reading Hospital and other hospitals in Peshawar was being ended.
He said that under the new system a doctor at the DHQ hospital would be bound to give solid reasons in written for referring any patient to a health facility in Peshawar.
Tarakai said that he was personally visiting all the DHQ hospital to get first hand information about the healthcare facilities being provided to the patients.
He said that he had suspended three doctors and 13 other staff members of the Shahbaz Ghari Civil Hospital.
