ISLAMABAD: Sarah Mahboob and Sara Mansoor set up women’s singles title clash in the 33rd Federal Cup Tennis Tournament at the PTF Complex following Monday’s semi-finals.
Sarah Mahboob outclassed Shimza Naz Durab 6-3, 6-0 while Sara Mansoor edged out Mehaq Khokhar 6-0, 7-5 to make it to the final.
In the men’s singles qualifying round, Irfanullah, Usman Ijaz, Mian Bilal, Jabir Ali, Jibran-ul-Haq, Emaduddin, Kamran Khan and Hamid-ul-Haq entered the main round with one set victories.
Main draw of men’s singles was taken out by the tournament referee Arif Qureshi in the presence of all the ranked players.
The top eight seeds of men’s singles are Aqeel Khan, Muzammil Murtaza, Shahzad Khan, Mudassar Murtaza, Yousaf Khalil, Heera Ashiq, Ahmed Kamil and Muhammad Abid.
Results: Men’s singles second qualifying round: Irfanullah bt Huzaima Abdul Rehman 8-3, Mian Bilal bt Azeem Khan 8-4, Jibran-ul-Haq bt 8-2, Emaduddin bt Talha Saqib 8-5, Hamid-ul-Haq beat Ahmed Murad 8-2.
