SSGC seeks head hunter firms’ help

KARACHI: The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC), which is being run by acting managing directors for over a year, intends to hire services of a head hunting firm to recruit a managing director and chief executive officer.

SSGC has invited firms having extensive experience to participate and submit their profiles. The scope of work includes advertising and circulating the position in leading newspapers and social media platforms to search for top quality and seasoned professionals, while adhering and complying with all applicable rules and regulations.

In February 2019, the board of directors of SSGC appointed Muhammad Waseem as new acting managing director – the third in less than two months.

Waseem was working as deputy managing director operations in the company and assumed the charge of acting managing director after his senior Imran Farookhi stepped down from the post.

Farookhi was appointed as acting MD on January 11, 2019 after the federal government removed Amin Rajpoot from the post. Rajpoot was looking after the company’s top job as acting MD and had returned to his original assignment of chief financial officer (CFO).
