A man was shot dead in a firing incident in Lasi Goth area in New Karachi. According to the New Karachi police, the body was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival. The victim was identified as 50-year-old Ghulam Haider, son of Maula Dino. The deceased was father of five and a rickshaw driver.
The police said a victim’s relative, namely Ejaz, told an investigation team that the man was returning home after offering Fajr prayers when two assailants on a motorcycle shot at him. According to eyewitnesses, the attackers appeared to be waiting for the man in the morning. The man sustained multiple bullet injuries and passed away on the spot, the police said.
The police said they had launched a hunt to arrest the murderers. While the motive of the murder was yet to be ascertained, the police said, it was suspected that the man could have been killed over a personal enmity.
Body found
The body of a man was found in a house located at Dhani Bux Goth in Bhittaiabad. According to the Sacchal police, they moved the body to the Jinnah hospital for an autopsy. The police said the deceased had been identified as 32-year-old Javed Ali and that the man's throat had been slit by unidentified persons. The victim’s nephew had been detained for an interrogation, the police said. No case has been registered so far.
