KARACHI: A 13-member Pakistan’s contingent left for Samoa on Wednesday night to feature in the 5th Commonwealth Youth Games which will be held there from September 5-11.
Pakistan will participate in boxing, squash, tennis and weightlifting. As many as 5000 young athletes aged 14-18 will represent their countries and compete for 107 gold medals at stake in nine sports disciplines.
The host nation Samoa is a small, tropical island nation in the central pacific.
Boxing: Mohammad Nadeem, Mohammad Shafiq (both boxers), Ali Bakhsh (coach),
Squash: Israr Ahmed, Sadia Gul (both players), Sher Ali Kakar (manager),
Tennis: Muzammil Murtaza, Rida Khalid (both players), Nilofer Khalid (manager),
Weightlifitng: Talha Talib, Mohammad Usman, Abdur Rehman (all weightlifters), Mohammad Rashid (manager).
