LAHORE
YOUNG Doctors Association (YDA) has demanded the government to constitute Joint Investigation Team for tracing out the gang of accused persons involved in blackmailing lady doctors and students of medical colleges.
YDA Leader Dr Salman Kazmi said the representatives of FIA, IB and ISI should be included in the JIT to investigate the issue thoroughly.
Lahore Investigations police has conducted raids in Layyah and Toba Tek Singh in cooperation with local police but could not trace out the prime suspect. The father of main accused person identified as Abdul Wahab Alvi has disowned him while the remaining members of his family could not be traced out. It is worth mentioning here that FIA in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has already been investigating a case of a female medical student of Lahore who was victimised on same pattern in January 2015.
The YDA has also decided to approach Cyber Crime Circle of FIA Lahore to trace out the accused person without any further delay. Dr Salman said the FIA officers had assured full cooperation to solve the case. Some of the victims and their colleagues have also created a website and shared information about accused person.
The manager of the website has also invited victims to share their cases/stories, which will be kept confidential. The website is:
http://doctorsharassmentcase.com/young-lady-doctors-harassment-case-lahore/
Some of the information shared on the website shows that the accused person was using 20 SIMs to blackmail lady doctors and students of different medical colleges of Lahore. He was using three to four names of officers of sensitive agencies to blackmail the victims.
The victims were of the view that Alvi used to call them by fake names like Faisal Ansari, Nabeel Niazi, Ali Sherazi etc and tell the victim that he was an officer from IB and had logs of their SMS etc. Then he would ask the victim to cooperate with him and share the code that she gets on her smart phone through viber.
Once the victim provided the code to him, her pictures, contact lists, messages were all transferred to him. Then the accused person started calling her again and again and made calls to her family members (as he gets the entire contact list) and blackmailed her and asked for the money.
He is a resident of Layyah while his divorced mother lives in Toba Tek Singh. Two cases have also been traced out against him. According to the website information, he was receiving money from doctors via EasyPaisa. In 2010, he was arrested and a case of abduction was also registered against him. He was accused of abducting the daughter of a landlord.
The victims or their family members can add any other information or share their experience while keeping identity secret and can post their comments/stories using any nickname/fake name. Also if anyone has any information about this guy can contact via the contact form available at the website.
At least 150 victims and their families have so far visited the website but they are still afraid of sharing their stories.
SP City Haroon Joiya said that they had been collecting details of the accused person and would soon arrest him and his accomplices. To a question, he said the accused person’s friend, who was running an academy would also be grilled. The accused person has gone underground by deactivating his social media accounts and switching off cell phones.
