Two brothers among four perish in road accidents
KARACHI: Two brothers were crushed to death when a water tanker hit their motorcycle in Korangi on Monday. The horrific accident took place near Indus Chowrangi in the Korangi Industrial Area, within the limits of the Awami Colony police station. After police and rescuers were called in, the body was moved to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities Doctors pronounced both of them dead on arrival. Police said the victims used to work at a private security company and the accident took place. The victims were identified as Naseem and Wasim who were residents of Burmi Colony in Korangi.
Police said they had arrested the water tanker driver, namely Nabil, and also impounded his vehicle. A case has been registered and an investigation is under way. Hit-and-runs Two men were killed by unidentified drivers in separate road accidents. While a crossing a road, a passer-by died after he was hit by a car in Malir Cantonment area.
Police said the deceased was resident of Malir and that the car driver who hit escaped the scene after the accident. The victim was identified as Raju and the body was taken to the JPMC for an autopsy. In another accident, a man who is yet to be identified died when a vehicle killed him near Kala Pull in Defence area. The body first was taken to the JPMC and later moved to a morgue. A case has been registered.
