Christians’ role in national development hailed

FAISALABAD: The Christian community is playing crucial role in national and economic development of the country, said Muhammad Sohail Khawaja, Faisalabad Development Authority Director General.

After a Christmas cake cutting ceremony along with Christian employees at the FDA offices under the aegis of Employees Welfare Association here Sunday, he greeted Christian community on their religious festival and said that being Pakistani, the joys of all communities were collective.

He said that Christmas gives the message of joy, peace and harmony. He said that the rights of Christian staff would be protected and urged them to continue their role for development of the country.

Laid to rest: Religious scholar Syed Hidayat Rasool Shah was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard on Sunday. He was nazim of Jamia Nooria Rizvia Gulberg and Tehrik-e-Minhajul Quran district Faisalabad president. He died of cardiac arrest at the age of 52.

Parliamentarians, officers, journalists, lawyers, Ulema, writers, industrialists and people from all walks of life participated in his funeral.

Power shutdown notice: The Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (Fesco) has released a power shutdown notice in connection with repair, maintenance and expansion of electric lines for December 23 (today). According to the notice, electricity would remain suspended from Zahid Gee feeder emanating from 132KV grid station from 9am to 1pm and Muzaffar Shaheed feeder emanating from 132KV Thikriwala grid station from 8:30am to 4:30pm.
