Boy tortured by landlord for ‘stealing’ oranges

BAHAWALPUR: A 14-year-boy was tortured by a landlord for stealing two oranges from his garden. According to M Khalid, his son Amir Maqsood of Haroonabad, was allegedly tortured by landlord Zahid and his accomplices for stealing oranges. Khalid claimed that the accused released his son after receiving Rs 20,000 as compensation for their loss. Faqirwali police have registered a case. According to spokesman for Bahawalnagar police Kashif Kamran, three accused Nadeem, Shahzad and Boota had been arrested while Zahid alias Fauji was still at large.
