A man died in a prank on Thursday after his friends filled his body with air through a compressed air pump at a tyre repair shop in Baldia Town, police said.

The 47-year-old man, Noor Sher, son of Azam Khan, was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital after the ill-thought-out prank left him seriously injured. However, he was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.

Responding to the information, a team of policemen reached the shop in Baldia Town and inquired into the incident. Police said the man’s friends at the shop inserted into his body the compressed air pump nozzle designed for tyres and he died due to the high air pressure inside him.

Police said that the victim’s friends fled the scene following the incident. Though the police believe that the incident occurred accidentally, they have launched a hunt for the suspects. However, police have not registered a case over the incident.
