Service rules for 50 sub-specialities ordered
LAHORE:Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid has directed the Health Department to make service rules for more than 50 sub-specialities.
Chairing a meeting at Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department, the minister also reviewed the matters regarding promotion and service rules of senior registrars, assistant professors, associate professors and professors.
She said vacant seats in Fatima Jinnah Medical University, Ganga Ram Hospital, Allama Iqbal Medical College, Jinnah Hospital, Jinnah Burn Centre, Institute of Public Health, De Montmorency College of Dentistry, Kind Edward Medical University, Mayo Hospital, SIMS, Services Hospital and other teaching hospitals should be fulfilled soon.
She said recommendations for promotion of officers awaiting promotion must be sent to the Service Rules Committee.
Punjab Health Secretary Nabeel Ahmad Awan, Special Secretary Silwat Saeed, Additional Secretary Dr Asif Tufail, Additional Secretary Dr Salman Shahid, King Edward Medical University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Khalid Masood Gondal, Fatima Jinnah Medical University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Aamir Zamaan Khan, Services Institute of Medical Sciences Principal Prof Dr Mehmood Ayaz and other officers attended the meeting.
Yasmin discusses care of mother, child with delegates: Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid met with a delegation led by Mayo Hospital CEO Prof Dr Asad Aslam Khan at Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Department.
According to a handout, Prof Clare Gilbert from London School of Hygiene, Dr Ayesha Malik, Dr Shahid Hussain from Homerton Hospital of London, Dr Umar Mian and Prof Muhammad Moeen from General Hospital attended the meeting in which matters regarding eye diseases and care of mother and child were discussed.
