Notices issued: Pak-Arab Oil Refinery has illegally occupied ETPB’s 44 acres

LAHORE: Pak-Arab Oil Refinery Ltd Karachi has illegally occupied 44 acres land of Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB), The News has learnt.

According to notices issued to PARCO, 44 acres land owned by ETPB in district Muzaffargarh was illegally occupied by PARCO. Documents said that 255 kanals and 9 marlas are occupied by PARCO in Mauza Gujrat, tehsil Kot Addu, district Muzaffargarh.

Around 93 kanals and 9 marlas are in Muaza Minsa Ram Khas, one kanal and seven marlas in Mauza Minsa Ram Sandela and 10 kanals and three marlas have been illegally occupied by PARCO in Mauza old Dera Ghazi Khan. A letter has been sent to deputy commissioner for recovering Rs43.2 million from defaulter/PARCO and depositing it in the account of ETPB. The document revealed that PARCO was in illegal possession of the land for the last 23 years. Regarding this issue, several meetings were held with the district administrations for recovering arrears through Muzaffargarh deputy commissioner.

As per the instruction of prime minister on a larger scale, action is being taken against defaulters or illegal occupants of ETPB land. According to ETPB spokesperson Amir Hashmi, proceedings or action will be taken according to law.

This correspondent talked to management executive officer Maheen at PARCO in Muzaffargarh, she said the matter was not in her knowledge. When contacted, Wasif Rauf officer management executive officer PARCO industrial relations in Muzaffargarh refused to comment and said you need to talk to PARCO’s land officer Asif Iqbal.

The land officer said such things happened but he will not disclose the details. You need to talk to Salman Zakiriya, who is also officer of management executive at PARCO headquarters in Karachi. He talked to this correspondent and demanded queries in writing. The scribe e-mailed the queries but he failed to respond till the filing of this report.
