Killer of four family members arrested

The police arrested the accused who had killed four members of his family including parents earlier this year.

“We have arrested the accused in the murder case of four people, including his mother and father,” District Police Officer Zaibullah Khan told a news conference at his office. Senior Superintendent of Police (Investigation) Arif Javed, Superintendent of Police (Operation) Mukhtar Khan and DSP Mohammad Bashir were also present on the occasion. The DPO said that Muhammad Wajid was arrested from Hyderabad (Sindh) and his wife, a co-accused in the case, managed to flee.

Giving details of the incident which happened in August this year, the DPO said that Wajid Ali had got married to the girl without the consent of his family.

The official said that the wife of the accused used to quarrel with her in-laws. And the accused got infuriated and opened fire on his family members, killing his father, mother, elder brother and sister-in-law on the spot, he said. “We have constituted a team which raided their hideout in Hyderabad and arrested the main accused,” he added.

The accused, who was presented before mediamen, said that he had killed his entire family to satisfy his wife but she fled with another man.
