A minor girl was killed in a firing incident outside her house in Gulshan-e-Maymar on Tuesday. According to police, the incident took place in Bahadur Goth near the Afghan Camp within the remits of the Gulshan-e-Maymar police station. The girl was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where she succumbed to a single bullet wound. The Afghan origin girl was identified as seven-year-old Muskaan.
According to SHO Ishtiaq Ghauri, the victim’s family initially told police that the girl was playing outside their home when an unidentified person shot and injured her, but later her father, a labourer, said a stray bullet hit and killed his daughter.
However, police suspected that Muskaan was apparently murdered as the bullet went straight through her forehead. Police are investigating the incident from different angles.
