Close relative rapes, kills minor girl

RAWALPINDI: A 7-year-old girl was raped and killed in Gulraiz Housing Society in her house in the absence of her family, police said on Friday. The City Police Officer (CPO) taking abrupt action upon receiving information about the rape and murder of a minor girl, asked the police to trace and arrest the killer immediately, the police spokesman said and added that the police team arrested a 19-year-old alleged killer and rapist who was close relative of the victim. CPO Rawalpindi Faisal Rana sent SSP (Investigations) Mohammad Faisal, SP (Potohar) Syed Ali and ASP (Civil Lines) Beenish Fatima to the crime scene to collect evidence and to shift body of girl to hospital for autopsy. In the meanwhile, SSP (Investigations) and SP (Potohar) found blood spots on the bed of a close relative of the killed girl and arrested the suspect and shifted him to the police station for investigation. The doctors determined that the 7-year girl had also been raped. The teams of Crime Scene Unit and Forensic Science Lab collected evidence from the crime scene. The SSP (Investigations), SP (Potohar) and ASP (Civil Lines) Beenish Fatima, after investigating the arrested accused. The investigation team briefed the CPO that the accused, arrested under suspicion of killing the 7-year girl after rape, has confessed to have committed the heinous crime. Case has been registered against the accused on the complaint of the father of the victim with the Airport police station under rape and murder charges.
