LAHORE :A woman killed her two minor children by drowning them in a water tank and later attempted suicide over domestic dispute in the Raiwind City police area on Friday.
Police removed the bodies to morgue and shifted the injured woman who attempted suicide to hospital.
The victims have been identified as Mehrooba, 5, Ehtisham, 4.
Their killer mother has been identified as Naheed, 27, resident of Salamatpura, Raiwind. Police said the stonehearted woman married one Nasir of Sawabi a few years back. The couple used to quarrel over petty issues. She left the house of her husband and started living with her parents. On the day of the incident, Nasir visited the house of his in-laws for reconciliation.
Naheed refused to go with him and threw her children in the water tank. As a result, both innocent children died.
Later, she cut her throat in an attempt to kill herself. She was rushed to hospital by Rescue 1122 in a critical condition. Police reached the scene after being informed and collected forensic evidences. They also recorded the statements of locals. Further investigation is underway.
